Our Founder

Lorle a mother of five, was pregnant with twins when her first child was graduating from high school. She saw how fast the years went by and how little she had done. She wanted to find simple ways to do more of the “meaningful” things for her family that would keep them connected as they grew up, left home and had families of their own.

After three years of research on the subject of family and twenty-five years of raising her own children, our Founder described what she calls, “The Seven Keys to Creating Family Ties” in the book The Little Things are the Big Things. Determined to share all she had learned about creating a more meaningful family life, Once Upon a Family™ was established in October 2002 to make a difference in the lives of families around the world.

Traditions instill a sense of belonging, help teach family values, and create the everlasting memories that connect us. Once Upon a Family™ was created to help people see how important family traditions, rituals, and celebrations are in creating the sense of family togetherness that we all crave, and how easy it is to make these family events meaningful to everyone involved.
